Emma Bangaihen & Basilisk

Emma Bangaihen & Basilisk

Victorian England may technically be a single country, but within it dwells two worlds- that of the commoners, and that of the nobles. In an era where status and the opinion of society counts for everything, a romance that breaks class boundaries seems almost impossible to countenance- at least until it actually happens. The feelings between Emma, the maid of a retired governess, and William Jones, son and heir of a wealthy businessman, cannot be denied, but can the couple ever really hope to have a proper relationship? Traditional class distinctions and rich, historical details provide the backdrop for this appealing romance.

The “Emma, Further Tales” manga fills in details from the “Emma” manga, both before and after the events in that storyline, now concluded. Each chapter explores the motivations or simply shows a day in the life of a particular character from the story. Find out about the romance between Doug and Kelly in their early days, or follow the adventures of Eleanor as she overcomes her heartache and begins to live again, or visit with Tasha and her family on her day off.

  4. crazyankan Says:

    Eriol: Up to vol 17.

Took me awhile to download and upload all these volumes.

  5. mono Says:

yeah i guess it did! nice work crazy, thanks
i was tryin to think of a similar style manga to upload after basilisk, good choice with boti.. happen to be dl’ing the older volumes of that at the moment so you helped me out here.

i might grab the whole lone wolf & cub manga, want to re-read it.
will try post once i got it.
awesome old school manga but it 28 vols long :O

  6. crazyankan Says:

i am starting to downloading Lone wold & cub.

Mono, I was planning on a Hajime no Ippo upload. THAT is a huge upload ;)

  7. Kard Says:

Thanks for the Blade of the Immortal. I was wondering though does Hajime no Ippo play out like Shamo with lots of fighting?

  8. crazyankan Says:

Kard: I haven’t read Shamo yet. But Hajime no Ippo has lots of fighting and it’s very addicting to read. Once you start, you can’t quit.

  9. CGorhant Says:

Basilisk was a bit like Battle Royal in ancient Japan ;) But I liked it more than BR, thanks!! Only the backgrounds were a little plain, just photos most of the time.
Do you know the Anime “Ninja Scroll” (not the series)? Its quite similar, including the Kouga ninja, Kageru and some shinobi with freaky techniques like these people. I wonder if its all the same legend behind this.

  10. Art Says:

Thanks very much for Emma Bangaihen, I have been waiting a year for someone to continue it. I think this is actually ch 12, not 11, after checking my raws.

  11. Sugi Says:

Thank you very much for the Emma Bangaihen. Thank you… Thank you… Thank you…

  12. silverado Says:

Nope, this is chapter 11. The last previous scanlated chapter is number 10.

  13. Kard Says:

crazyankan: Thanks for the info I’d suggest you pick up Shamo it’s very good. A warning the first 2 or 3 volumes have some disturbing scenes in it.

  14. Ayama Says:

Thanks a lot for Emma Bangaihen ch11!

  15. gure no kishi Says:

About time someone picked up the bangaihen.
When I decided to read Emma and buy the 7 volumes in italian
I found out that due to this manga doing poorly here the publishing
company isn’t going to buy the rights for bangaihen. I was a little pissed. So, I read the scans from iichan and then the raws, but now I can finally understand them completely and know how the story ends since I wasn’t able to find raw 18.

    Two thing to note:

    - I have this as raw 12, not 11. 11 it’s the funny chapter with Emma trying to ride a bicycle;

    - the translations from italian to english are really, really good. Kudos to the translator. Just a miss in the first page where there should be “Brava Rosina” since it’s a female name and the adjective must be female too.

    That’s all, waiting for more.
    =^.^=

  16. guren no kishi Says:

    I missed a “n” and a “s” somewhere.
Maybe it’s time to change the batteries of the wireless keyboard.
    ^^”

  17. silverado Says:

*Fixed “Brava rosina!” in version 2

  18. guren no kishi Says:

Didn’t notice, because if you click on the direct download link up there saying 11v2 it downloads the v1. In my case, at least.
    ^^

  19. silverado Says:

Yes, the file name is the same but the file date is different.

  20. guren no kishi Says:

Ok, now I’ve got the right version.
Maybe the first time I clicked on the v2 the text in the link was updated but the new file hadn’t been uploaded yet. I don’t know. Anyway, problem solved. Bye.

  21. razornet Says:

The bicycle chapter is listed as chapter 11 in the magazine, but is missing from the volume 8/9 raws. Will you translate it first before moving to the second part of this opera arc?

  22. silverado Says:

The bicycle chapter appears in volume 10.

  23. mono Says:

    answer for CGorhant::

yes, both Ninja Scroll and Basilisk are both based on a novel called Kouga Ninpocho by Futaro Yamada.
Although basilisk is much closer to the original storyline, characters in Ninja Scroll are based on those from the novel aswell

    ~mono

  24. CGorhant Says:

    Thanks!
Now I have to check out this novel ;)

  25. Eriol Says:

    [Evil_Genius]Zetman_v09c094-095 is out.
    Byez!

  26. zack Says:

I just begun to read the manga Emma. Though the art is pretty much the same for all the characters the story is just beautiful. Now I can’t wait for the other releases.

  27. solitaryCross Says:

Uhm, the link to EMMA Bangaihen ch11v2 is not working anymore.

  28. crazyankan Says:

solitaryCross: That link died early :( A new one is up now.

  29. solitaryCross Says:
