It is small (only 330 KB) and it can make your life as man (and woman) so much easier. CryptDisk is a virtual disk based encryption tool that runs under Windows. You can hide your collections of cars, underwear shots, heck even your whole hentai collection right under the nose of your chef! It’s even freeware!
I know hundreds of situation where a fast, light-weighted folder encryptor could be useful. I bet even the C.I.A. know CryptDisk – if not – they will hate YOU for using it! – silv
CryptDisk uses a file as virtual logic drive and mounts it as a real one, everything you write to the created virtual disk will be encrypted transparently, virtual disk in effect is a drive volume that is loaded once you have input the correct password.
Note: All files are stored in an innocent looking .IMG file. Your curious colleagues won’t even know where to look at!
Features: creates a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mounts it as a real disk. Decryption is automatic, as data is read from the hard disk or usb token, CryptDisk.4h automatically decrypts the data before it is loaded. When data is written back to the hard disk, it is automatically re-encrypted. CryptDisk.4h uses two of the most proven encryption algorithms: AES-256, Twofish-256.

“I live alone. Is encryption really worth bothering?”
Well, do you really want your future girlfriend or your to-be wife know about your previous lovers?

Nice, I’ll give it a try. By the way are you guys still working on XS, it’s been a while since the last release.
February 23rd, 2009 at 2:02 AM
Officially we have not dropped the series yet. Unofficially only HAO, our scanlation partner for xs still works on it. Though they have no rwas for vol 5.

Could be useful for my 100+ GB porn :P

Still wondering why there’s a need to hide stuff of your interests.. Embarassment? Grow over it. Shame? Please. It won’t go away or change who you are, even if you try to deceive others or yourself.
People should try to accept who they are more.
Encryption’s good only for paranoids and those dealing with truly dangerous, or illegal matters. Private stuff, the one that matters anyway, you give away freely anyway. To anyone with a least bit of social standing or social engineering knowledge.
..and those that really want something hidden or encrypted already know about it and will get it no matter what you try, short of eradicating it physically.
..still, I welcome paranoia. Easier to step on the dark side once it comes to it.

As soon as you finished school and started working in an office, you’re going to experience a sudden enlightment.

There are kids who use that computer.
Do you want them to see all that stuff?
I don’t want to waste my time searching for them/recovering them again, after they have been deleted.

Exactly! Do you want them to steal your porn?
February 23rd, 2009 at 7:14 PM
Let them try it (steal it)? (I will bully them, if they did :P )
I am evil >:)
Intro into the world of hacking.
February 23rd, 2009 at 8:38 PM
It’s alot easier to just put password on your computer. That way no one has access to anything on it =|
February 23rd, 2009 at 10:37 PM
not for guys like me :)
you cant keep me away from your porn
February 24th, 2009 at 12:12 AM
Why would anyone even come to your computer? If someone was using my computer, then it would be stolen. And can’t see anyone stealing it.
February 24th, 2009 at 8:45 AM
Yea i wanna give this a try because my stupid friend always goes and looks for it whenever i forget to lock my comp.

mono: Actually, I share (and enjoy) it freely with her. ;P (And if you don’t with yours, maybe you should?)
silv: Good point, but if your self-control is that weak, perhaps it’s something beside encryption you need. Besides, they are called PC’s, as in, Personal Computers for a reason. Laptops, PDA’s etc, use your own devices if you absolutely must.
infyquest: Get your children their own computer, about time anyway! (For each individual in a family to have their PC.) These days those mini-laptop eee-pc’s can be bought for quite the available prices. Passwords and individual user-profiles are another great way to go.
..and IMHO one should teach their progeny about sexual stuff (porn included) at a safe environment at home, rather than to have them find out about it elsewhere (and they ABSOLUTELY will – unless you’re living in a Amish community, in which case you don’t have any business reading these blogs anyway). While speaking of sexual awareness, my girlfriend adds that you already start teaching your children about it from the moment you make them wear clothes. So don’t do it half-assed by leaving it at that!

Oh noes, was I blocked from commenting due to provocative first comment?

Hmm, nope. *tries again*

animals and midgets arent her cup of tea

Midgets seem to be oddly popular though. ;P
February 24th, 2009 at 3:47 PM
They are not my kids, my cousins and nephews.
Anyway I am quite poor, I cant even get my laptop repaired
February 24th, 2009 at 7:36 PM
Zael, you fail! =O
February 24th, 2009 at 7:37 PM
Zael, well you have funny views on those matters. But I think we should leave it by that. Personally I think encryption has many uses. Be it your account data, personal files, passwords, database files, encryption can be used on any field anywhere. So saying you need no encryption because of sex, is – well – a rather simplistic point of view.
No, i did not censor you. I guess either my blog loves me and wanted to spare me the truth, or you triggered one of spam keywords used in my anti spam script. Well, or it was both :P
February 24th, 2009 at 8:35 PM
And now it seems it let all those attempts pass at once. *agrees with wathiroth* -_-;
I would appreciate those failed posts be deleted (or indeed all of them T_T).
infyquest, I know the feeling, sitting on a five year old laptop myself..
Well, apologies to everyone who had to wade through all of my failed re-posts (or was offended by any of my opinions).
February 24th, 2009 at 9:43 PM
No, having a high comment count creates the illusion that this site is actually visited. So the comments stay!
February 26th, 2009 at 4:14 PM
That’s why you allow all the spam? =O
February 26th, 2009 at 4:21 PM
No, I don’t allow spam. It’s just that I was too lazy to delete them all XD
February 26th, 2009 at 5:22 PM
I think not! It was because you spam so much yourself =D !
April 19th, 2009 at 3:34 AM
@Zeal
Why are you being such a prick? It’s really up to people where they want to download this thing or not. If you don’t wish to do so, why do u even bother replying? Go do something else. Such a busybody.
April 30th, 2009 at 6:09 AM
What if someone looks at your programs chart and says “hooo this one doesn’t seem to be used/must be spyware or whatever” and deletes the program…what happens to the virtual documents that were encrypted?
May 28th, 2009 at 5:54 AM
Huh… that’s a good question.
June 8th, 2009 at 10:21 PM
@Zeal, bottom line is, encryption keeps sensitive information secure from invasion — physical and virtual. Like cellular phones, laptop can be lost or stolen when you least expect it. At least with encryption, it will hinder and maybe dissuade criminals from potentially getting into your private data. And it’s not for everyone, like in your case.
