another incomplete series. but this is really one of my top top favorite manga. an awesome balance of genres. hard to describe, but its got it all! and its got vampires. i like vampires.
those of you who’v followed my recomendations before may think i v gone soft, but stick with it. there is enough action in there to keep someone like me entertained. and it really is charming…
i just hope the vol 5 raws turn up (i’v looked, but dont know the best places for raws) and then someone can scanlate the rest…
or maybe we can do it after Emma Bangaihen…. if we dont fall apart, with no leader…!

Its by the man who drew Battle Angel Alita and BAA: Last Order (GLO).
He suspended it after three volumes to do BAA: LO first but will end it once GLO is finished.
The ratings on mangaupdates aren’t that good but despite that I found this manga great. Its really funny, apparently Kishiro also knows how to joke plus the artwork is awesome, like always.
Also you for sure have noticed, that many artists call their chapters not “chapter” but fight, phase, kill, change, log and so on. Here we also have a very refreshing way of that.

Cool compilation. I’ll get on to Maken X without questions as I too like the art and the style of storytelling of Q Hayashida. rrrr
@Death Note: I never read it (“don’t trust the hype”^^). Is it worth it? I mean, we aren’t 15 anymore and can’t be impressed so easily by some pseudo-mysteries (like I was with NGE back then). Is it just standard blah-blah about what “would you do with the ultimate power in your hand”?

but yeah it is actually pretty good, i thought so anyway…. definately worth a read i’d say

The scans of Aqua Knight could use a re-do. If someone has free time, if every pic gets a alt+ctrl+L in Photoshop for the auto-contrast it would already make a difference, plus some double pages are split into two…

I just coincidentally used XnView and stumbled over such a scripted option. Its good in terms of that its scripted, so it takes nearly no time to edit all pics. But imo it does not do very much, the greyish fog on some pics vanishes a bit, but its not a clear and hard black/ white. I don’t know how to make it really good.
@5ortunato: If you’re interested, besides Alita and Aqua Knight, Kishiro also drew “Haisha” (or a.k.a. “Ashen Victor”), which sets in the Alita/ Motorball-universe and some early-career-manga (some of it is on his website).

Blood alone is a good manga, spend a couple of hours online snooping around trying to get a raw for V5 … talk about failing cry

Oh, Aqua Knight has potential! It is definately worth a read! If not for the (weak) main story, then for all those spin offs.
It kind of reminds me of the spin off story which he inserted into Battle Angle LO to explain the vampire girl – which has impressed me most.
You are reminded of BLO a lot, but yet it is totally different, and I hope he continues this series in the future.
Maken X is actually pretty bad. It feels as if it was a test for Dorohedoro.
