Damnit, I don’t really like BotI, but Samura Hiroaki sure knows how to do one-shots! Halcyon Lunch was a great read :D Good composition, funny and remarkable.

Oh, here I am ranting off again.
The link to the older post reminded me: What became of this Karate Manga? Oh and what of the Manga from the guy who does Tough? The one with the religious assassins and the guy with the wolf shaped scar on his back (stupid, I know…)
But hooray guys! You are really marvelous – Berserk and Blade of the immortal, a great oneshot and Dante’s Divine Comedy.
You should’ve ditched Gantz, it really is no fun anymore. How could they fuck up such a promising story so bad?

oh the Karate Minoru thing…? the last i posted of it was the whole of vol 1. i kinda lost interest and forgot about it.. there are 3 more chapters released, i could grab them for you guys later maybes. but looks like its slowed right down now… Deadbeat scans say they’r struggling for translators for it..
Dokuro was the one from same guy as Tough, iv posted all thats released (1 volume).. it was 1 guy scanlating it (Brolen), so i expect the releases to be slow. he seems to focus on hentai stuff so he might even drop that series…

@BotI: I don’t know, maybe its the sallow, sketchy artwork, it looks like he only used a pencil, its just not my cup of tea^^ I know nothing about the story, though. I find Vagabond to be much better.
@Gantz: Yes, I agree. I read it in its bi-weekly releases but its always like *facepalm*. I only keep it up because the end is in sight and I fucking wanna know the damn conclusion (and then forget it again).
Ahh yes, so few seinen-translators out there… that reminds me that by tomorrow we again will have at least 5 different sscanlations of Naruto :/

BOTI:its kinda sketchy at first, but gets a bit cleaner and the style changes as it goes on quite a lot. i regard Hiroaki’s art as one of the best out there. its hardly even manga/anime style, its realistic like Vagabond etc
but the story is great too, apart from the prison bit, its really well paced all the way through. no messing around. just how i like it

I didnt like boti in the beginning. I have maybe read the first volumes 3-4 times, but didnt want to continue. But then I tried one more time and I couldn’t stop.
But I still don’t like the artwork so much. I am more into Shin Angyo Onshi, battle angel alita, zetman artwork.

it was one of the first mangas i got into (im saying that a lot recently!)
i see what you mean, i think we’v talked about this before crazy. you like the clean-ness of the artists you mentioned.
i just love the detail and his ability with anatomy is unbelievable. how he draws things like feet and hands, and the poses and angles….
ok now i stop rambling!

@crazyankan: Do you use Photoshop for editing? If so, when you’re releasing a chapter go to the save for web panel, and select PNG-8 128 Dithered from the drop down menu. Then change the following: Change Selective to Adaptive, uncheck the transparency box, set Colors to 17, and set Dither to 100%. I noticed you’re using a .jpg format, which isn’t really good for manga as it results in quite a bit of pixelation. Can you send me a zipped copy of the .psd’s for Adolf as well? BTW, I’ll probably have the next script up tonight if all goes well.

Added the new Hox project. Artwork is only so-so but the story could be fun, lets see. Hox gave more than enough proof of his good taste already^^
Later I hope to find time to add some other series…

@Gantz: Well its chapter 300 and nothing is revealed, not even the slightest thing. On the contrary, even more mysteries occur (Vampires, Gantz-man can walk around, two Kei’s). They’re just keep fighting and fighting, to me it seems pointless. Or did you really enjoy the endless fight in Osaka? Though the scenario was promising, it didn’t develop at all. By the bye, I didn’t like the CGI-pictures from the beginning.

Gambling Emperor Legend’s good, despite the artwork, which is goofy. But then again it kind of fits the storytelling and the characters. It reminds me a bit of this yakuza manga “Bakune Young”.

Added War at Spikes Hill. If you wonder about his “gift” (see mangaupdates), its great at stealing pockets, no supernatural-things here, more slice of life I’d say.
I planned on adding “Zero”, done by hellz0ne but it turned out to be rather lame. Also I wanted to add “Gokusen”, a josei-manga, its kind of funny, but then again its not THAT funny and the AW isn’t too good (at least in the the first volume)

Can’t do anything about the artwork I guess, personally I enjoy it. (Yes, and the long spectacular fights with the most bizarre creatures of different lores as well.)
Story wise, I think you’re mistaken. A whole lot of things has been revealed throughout the series, if you only get on with the fantasy and use your imagination to go along with the revealed story itself. =) In my opinion, mysterious story that has plenty of room for different theories is excellent. (Like LOST tv-series.) Manga-wise I suspect the story to be closer to Bokurano, whereas game-wise it’d be PS2’s Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time.
