20th Century Boys Live Action Movie
(.avi, 800Mb, jap. dub, eng. sub) by Naoki Urasawa
Yes, its a Live Action Movie. I think they’re planning to do a remake in Hollywood, let’s see and hope for the best. I think you all know the manga, its pure suspense. Keeeenji-kun, let’s play!

.
claymore
Claymore
(.avi, 26 episodes, all ~170Mb, jap. dub, eng. sub) by Yagi Norihiro
The anime covers the story until the winter war in the north. The last episodes… well see for yourself but you should already guess it, since the manga is still ongoing. Still, its a nice view to see clare and the others in color and motion.

.
CB
Cowboy Bebop
(.ogm, 26 episodes, all ~200Mb, dual audio, eng. sub) Shinichiro Watanabe

Cowboy Bebop Movie – Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door
(.mkv, 4.4Gb, jap. dub, eng. sub, its pretty big but at least its active. If you have a smaller one…?)

Cowboy Bebop Manga (3 volumes)
Cowboy Bebop OST
Yeah, what to say? Great, awseome piece of scifi and of all anime, better then the manga, which was produced afterwards I think. The movie is also great and so is the OST. There will be a live action movie soon. Keanu Reeves outed himself a huge fan of this and he wants to impersonate Spkie Spigel. I’m unsure, but let’s hope for the best, as always…

.
akira
Akira
(.avi, 776Mb, jap. dub, eng. sub) by Katsuhiro Otomo
This one is a classic. The manga is by far better, but the anime is also something. It was state of the art in 1988. Look closely: the characters move their jaw while speaking and the lips movement matches the actual words they speak. Plus the color depth and the effects… if I wouldn’t know better I couldn’t believe that this piece was made in the late 80s. Otomo liked filming and producing that much, he afterwards went completely into that business. Also, I think Leonardo di Caprio’s company has plans for a live action movie.

.
planetes
Planetes
(.mkv, 26 episodes, all ~230Mb, jap. dub, eng. sub)
Thehe, as always, the manga is better and is complete, as this anime only covers vol. 01-04, leaving vol. 05 behind (it was not yet finished then). But the cool thing about the anime is that the equipement is better, it has a better concept (or how to say it)…
Also, don’t get too frustrated over the first ~7 episodes, it needs some time but eventually will become a great series.

.
monster
Monster
(74 episodes, .avi, all ~175 Mb, jap. dub, eng. sub) by Naoki Urasawa again
Now I’m out of words^^ Again the master of suspense (besides Hitchcock). Great manga, great anime, watch it!

.

Samurai Champloo
(26 eps, .avi, 3.8gb total)
another one by Watanabe.

    Thanks for the… moving pictures.^^

Already watched them all though except for 20th century boys.

Have this little bit uneasy feeling with anime/manga turned into live-action.
    But it’s just me.

  2. mono Says:

ahhhhhh nice work CG, great post :)

im not usually into anime, but i might check out Monster, if i have time. i haven’t read the manga yet, or 20th century boys actually. maybe letting myself down there on my manga knowledge.
Love akira, if anyone wants the manga, search on here.
maybe we should post the other classic – Ninja Scroll too?!

agree with John, the Akira live action is worrying… i heard it’s set in new york, and Leo is Kaneda…. wtf!? although i shouldnt be negative, i bet it’s terrible :P
the bike will be a harley or some sort of stupid batman style bike..
my view is: if you arent going to do the original justice, then dont bother trying! this applies to music too ;)

    edit: added samurai champloo too

  3. albert Says:

Cool, a small but lovely comment count. As expected though, since most of it is known already ;)

@Mono, thx for SC and nice idea with the classics: Ninja scroll, Akira, Wicked City, Bubblegum Crisis, Armitage… have to check if its available.

  6. Mr Phil Says:

  7. js Says:

    liked Planetes manga a lot

don’t usually watch anime but I checked it out just to see

not as good, I’d say 3-4 episodes are worth watching. they ended it well though

  8. CG Says:

@js&Planetes: Yes the ending was good, even though it is not the manga-ending. Personally I didn’t like Tanabe at first in the anime, she was downsized to one phrase, “Ai desu”, but later she became quite a character. Good story-turn on the moon e.g.
Some of the earlier episodes are really annoying, like with the Ninja’s, but it was good that they where mentioned again later (in the big accident). So it wasn’t completely pointless.

@Cowboy Bebop: Yes, thats the anime for president!^^ Its just great, nearly every single episode. Hard scifi, drama, love, fights with fists, swords and guns, zero gravity action, just an awesome piece.
There is an episode 27 somewhere, or labeled as 7.5 or something, it explains the world of CB a bit more.

I’m not that a big fan of “Dark Knight” but all in all the comic adaptions ar getting better and more serious, lets hope they don’t mess the animes up, because an adaption is inevitable anyway.

@mono&Akira: Yep, set in NY, but I didn’t hear of di Caprio playing Kaneda. I think he is just the producer. Anyway, di Caprio is a good actor, don’t judge him by Titanic ;) He’s way better than the blockbuster-dudes with their quickly earned money.
@Monster: Well, its genre is thriller. If you like to eat your fingernails and can’t wait to read the next chapter, you should try Monster or 20th century Boys (21st Century Boys = sequel). especially with faces and the expressions of fear and or horror or joy, Urazawa is a genius. But it takes a while, he usually developes his characters quite a bit and tends to introduce new characters sometimes when you want the main arc to go on ;)
