Well, its been at least a year since I’ve done one of these, so we’ve got some catching up to do w/ some my favorites over the past couple years
my recommendations for newer series: Casshern SINS, Darker than Black, xxxHolic: Kei/Shunmuki, To Aru Majutsu no Index, Seirei No Moribito (silv has been promoting that one for a while now)
Casshern SINS
its a bit emo, but when the story picks up pace, its amazing.

hopefully this link actually works >.> it did for me…
Darker than Black
easily one of my favorite series, although its very confusing if you don’t pay good attention to whats going on, one of the few series I’ve ever rewatched.
I’ll post pics on this one later, I need to grab the first couple eps and make something completely awesome out of them. (picture on top is of the main characters)
pretty good download speed on this one,
xxxHolic: Kei and xxxHolic: Shunmuki
I’ve always had a weakness for this manga, and the anime is phenomenal as well. The art is beautiful and the story fits well with it.

Kei- 1-13
Shunmuki: ep 1 (of 2, which came out 4 days ago)
Toaru no majutsu no Index
pretty good, they switched away from the main characters for an arc and it sorta made me lose interest, but still worth a watch

Seirei no moribito
Might as well bring this one back, never got into it but I hear its pretty good and I’ve been meaning to watch it

Image stolen from one of the previous posts circa 2007
hopefully the links all work :S
anyways, I’ll get to the ongoing series eventually

seirei no moribito was a well done anime in terms of animation, character design and setting and set-piece
HOWEVER i found it hard to empathize with the underlying theme since i am…. not a WOMAN
fyi this anime is a YARDSTICK as are most animes past and present… rarely are there any animes that don’t try (force) the viewer compare themselves (or rather [almost ALWAYS] people they know) against the characters in play…
case in point: Shigurui… though i have to admit this example is the most compelling i’ve seen in a LONG time… i must see it to it’s end

Kamui Fujiwara(author of Dragon quest manga) also draw a manga of Seirei no Moribito ^^

I’ll vouch for Seirei no Moribito.
It’s really a wonderful movie. Quality animation, great soundtrack, great story.
One drawback is that there are rather filler moments on some earlier episode. Beyond those, it’s full blast greatness. Must watch definitely.
