In response to the post featuring Orochi c1 (thank you very much for featuring it on the site)…
I’m molokidan, the translator who’s been doing a lot of Umezu works. I was working on Fourteen (his last, most epic series) and Left Hand of God, Right Hand of the Devil (a collection of short stories) with two other groups who seem to have died, and I’d like to continue them, so if you know of anyone interested in picking up these works, feel free to contact me by email or on mangahelpers.
As for the two series, what has been done of them can be found on MH if you’re interested. Umezu Kazuo has an amazing imagination and I hope more of his works can be translated into English in the future.
June 1st, 2009 at 8:13 AM
Woot, Agharta is being revived. I’ve almost lost hope. Story is even more messy than Dorohodoros, but I really like how it is drawn now.
June 1st, 2009 at 9:03 AM
hey molokidan. i hope you get some interest, but i can say we have a couple typesetters/cleaners… but we’r struggling for a translator for our projects too…. maybe we could come to some sort of agreement? ;)
June 1st, 2009 at 9:03 AM
@molokidan: wow, thats rare, a translator without a group and not the other way around. Normally, people should beat themselfes up to get you^^
Anyway, maybe you are lucky if you post your request (which is actually more an offer) at jCafe24? Or at mangahelpers, though they mostly have shounen.
June 1st, 2009 at 9:37 AM
S.A.S & Nerieru releases are not the same.
S.A.S is far superior. Nerieru have even stated they just release for the sake of releasing.
June 1st, 2009 at 9:44 AM
i don’t see anything wrong with nerieru’s releases. the quality is fine and i don’t recall anywhere that their translations are hard to understand or dont convey the story well…
i just like the fact they’r in front and release quicker. thats what matters to me

Mono, as to more unknown Yakuza/ Mafia-series: I just read that part 5 of “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures” by Araki Hirohiko is set in the Italian Mafia- scene. Here: http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=40796 However, there are some obstacles to this manga ;)
1. I haven’t read it yet, so I don’t know if it really fits your taste (ok, thats no obstacle for you to try it out^^)
2. It seems its not scanlated yet (so says MU at least)
3. Even if it where, I’m not sure if one’d understand whats going on without reading the other four parts of Jojo’s beforehand (which accumulate in over 50 tankoubon o_o)
June 2nd, 2009 at 4:20 PM
ahh! thats strange. for some reason i had it in my mind that JoJo was a completeley different type of manga. thought it was like One Piece or something.
think i’l have to start checking it out. something that huge is certainly very daunting though…. the mafia thing sounds good though..! was it any good?
there must be a good or epic Yakuza manga !
June 2nd, 2009 at 11:42 PM
update
June 3rd, 2009 at 1:07 AM
Are you guys going to add the new chapter of Yellow Heart? =o
June 3rd, 2009 at 4:33 AM
Woot! molokidan! Come on, you know you want to translate Eden! I will be posting up 111 (last one in v16) before the end of the week up on Wiki. (Can someone make it public, again?) And with that chapter I’ll be done with it.
June 3rd, 2009 at 9:02 AM
yeah i will add it at some stage soon. cant get on irc til tommorow.
unless you wanna get it and post a link ;) il add it no problemo
June 3rd, 2009 at 10:52 AM
@mono+Jojo’s: Yes, its an epic story. Starting in the 18th or so century it follows the children of the hero and of the villain. All in all there are nearly 100 volumes, thats simply too much for me ^^
Atm I’m reading Steel Ball Run, the seventh part of Jojo’s and the only one (besides the first part of course), which you can understand without the others. I’ll post it once im through…
June 3rd, 2009 at 11:01 AM
@mono: could you stop complaining about Hirano Kouta work!
June 3rd, 2009 at 11:34 AM
lol i know you love him alucard… did i diss him before?
who keeps voting these 1 stars just to spite us!?
June 3rd, 2009 at 11:57 AM
silv can look it up via IP easily, mono. Ignore the stars: that person is an anonymous retard. The stars things should just go away, anyways.
June 3rd, 2009 at 4:40 PM
k so what a wonderful world has been picked back up by Illuminati manga, wonder if we had anything to do with it! ;)
and yellow hearts to add too
i cant get on irc to get these two til tommorow though.
so if anyone gets em, please mirror and post the links here for us ;)
June 3rd, 2009 at 7:28 PM
Yay; Tough.
Drifters kind of looks interesting. I like the concept of the story.
Has anyone read a sci-fi novel of José Farmer? There is the story of the riverworlds – people who die wake up at the shore at a certain point and start to progress towards the river’s beginning.
Pretty anyone you could think of is there and they live together in tribes and little kingdoms – all with their different society concepts and technologies next to each other – ancient greeks and romans, Napoleon with his soldiers, british military from the 2nd world war and soviet spys from the cold war.
I think even Einstein was there. Pretty interesting how they’d interact, I think. Hopefully drifters will be like this.
June 4th, 2009 at 6:24 AM
Claymore 92 is finally out too. Here’s a Megaupload link:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2TVVSVQN
Why does this have to come out only once every month or so. WHY!!!
June 4th, 2009 at 8:36 AM
Thanks Louis, I included Claymore. Wow you’re right, next chapter will be awesome!
I have no clue about IRC, sorry^^
June 4th, 2009 at 8:45 AM
nice one cg, beat me to it…!
yeah well, irc is gettin old hat. i dunno why so many people still use it…
il fix those other things later today…
krummbart: you feelin ok!? you been smoking something!? ;)
June 4th, 2009 at 10:22 AM
Cool, new Vagabond.
@Krummbart: never heard of José Farmer. Are there scans available? We could make a little non-manga detour :)
Added Billy Bat.
Also, I’m planning to do an Artbook-post in the near future, so if you (mono, crazy, Archer) have/ know artbooks of authors you like, have them ready to hand, then ;)
June 4th, 2009 at 10:38 AM
think phil jose farmer is a writer not a mangaka cg :) unless you meant scans of his books :)
yeah i wasnt sure. dont follow that one….
nice idea about the artbooks. i dont have any except the akira one i posted a while ago. i know a few though, i’l collect them. also got some like calendars etc.
June 4th, 2009 at 11:24 AM
Ah a book, no I got it wrong then, I thought it’d be a comic^^
Yeah I don’t have that many artbooks either but it’ll fit if everyone adds some ;)
But I can’t say which ones I have, I wouldn’t want to spoil the audience :D
edit: the fuck..? Our last Freesia-post was ch. 59 and now Bod Rangzen released ch. 71, 73, 74! Did we missed out something?!^^
edit2: I added Gambling Emperor, Kämpfer and UDUUP, now the rain stopped and I really have to go eat something. Ah, I forgot Freesia, but well, … *hungry*
June 4th, 2009 at 12:07 PM
yeah i found out about freesia already
It’s because the raws and translations for the magazine scans from 70-79 are out and volume 10 and 11 aren’t … weird…
iv not dl’d them, cos dont wanna spoil it for myself!
itl be good when the missing part is released though we can read a lot then
nice adds by the way :) have fun.
ooh kampfer looks good. another bloody series i have to start reading!
iv got a folder crammed with series i wanna read and its growing and growing :S
June 4th, 2009 at 2:04 PM
Yes, José Farmer is a Sci-Fi Author. But it would be great if his books were turned into manga. ^^
I think Billy Bat is quite nice, does anyone care to create a batch of links for the chapters from 01 till now? I kind of skipped reading after chapter 5 when it started, and now I missed out on all of it!
Thanks for Zero Gambling Emperor, it kind of turned into one of my favorite series right now, despite the strange (but somehow fitting) artwork.
June 4th, 2009 at 2:46 PM
oh jojo is great. The mafia saga(Dio’s Son story) was the best.
June 4th, 2009 at 4:42 PM
I added chapter 10 of Yellow hearts and chapter 12 of What a wonderful world
so there are people who read Jojo here too :D
i have to read one or two more chapters and i finish the fist series,Phantom Blood.
edit: i just finished reading the 1st Jojo series,it was a very good supernatural/shounen manga, now i am gonna continue with the 2nd one.
June 4th, 2009 at 4:45 PM
nice one Arch!
June 4th, 2009 at 6:29 PM
@Krummbart: Sorry, no batch, but the old links are all still working, I’ll post them inside the post, ok?
@Archer: Wow I admire your stamina ;) I simply capitulated in front of this many chapters^^ The same thing, why I will never ever read “Kochikame” or “Hajime no Ippo” ;)
But Hirohiko’s style and storytelling is fantastic. Since “Lives of Eccentrics” and “Under Jailbreak Under Execution” I’m a total fan of his style.
June 5th, 2009 at 3:15 AM
thanks for billy bat and other updates!

Wow, so fast – thanks for the Billy Bat links!
Oyaji looks promising, hopefully it has an intelligent storytelling.
June 5th, 2009 at 4:00 PM
bleach 360 online. if anyone cares (its not listed on baka yet):
http://www.mangatoshokan.com/read/bleach/0/360/
June 5th, 2009 at 4:44 PM
Oyaji looks quite interesting,i am probably gonna enjoy reading it,nice upload
@CGorhant: it can be quite intimidating to think about starting a manga as long as the Jojo franchise is but i like its un-manga-like art and its bizarre stories and character and thanks to that almost all thoughts about the length of the manga are not really an issue anymore, also Jojo is so different from today’s shounen manga and i like that.
well it will take quite some time to read this franchise and i really take my time with long manga … and anime(it took me a year to finish watching Monster and it is one of my favorite anime)
June 5th, 2009 at 9:55 PM
Archer, I can only agree on what you said about the art of the Jojo franchise :D
—-
I was on the verge of uploading “The Breaker” but then again its not that a good manhwa. Martial arts, fan-servie and cool Uber-guy trains stupid, weak pupil and only one not half-bad fight in 3 volumes. So, meh, why bother…
June 6th, 2009 at 12:03 PM
more updates from raids and me
got another thing to go on laters…
June 6th, 2009 at 2:18 PM
Mono, I’d planned on doing a new post soon, mainly with Steel Ball Run to begin with. If yours is a full series upload, too, maybe you could spare it for the next post, as this one is full of goods and comments anyway ;)
June 6th, 2009 at 2:58 PM
yo cg – the thing i was talking about was the Koukou-Tough series i put on here. i do have 1 more short series though to add though…..
edit: i totally dont get knights of sidonia yet, it seems a bit weird…. oh yeah, was meaning to ask – where did you get the sidonia raws from??
June 6th, 2009 at 3:36 PM
Ok, then I’ll wait a bit with the next post, so that people have time to check out Koukou-Tough and your other uploads, first.
I don’t get Sidonia, too. The first chapter reminded me of an old movie, “The last Starfighter”, where the topscore-candidate of a videogame was abducted by aliens to fight this battle in reality. Now with the second chapter it seems like a mix of Abara and Gundam.
Some people think, it is a quasi-sequel to Abara, where a world in the end was destroyed by Gaunas. Maybe this is the story of the last survivors. But it is not yet clearly stated.
I got the RAW from “heeen’s Blame! forum”, somone posted it there. If you thought, I’d use Whinny or something like that, nope, I have no clue about that^^
June 6th, 2009 at 4:24 PM
Riki-Ohhhhh! Man, this seinen is funny. Thanks for more releases, supermangapusher mono. ;)
June 6th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
cg- nah, just go for it! my other thing is uploading now! :) or just leave as a draft for now and i’l add some stuff to it before we release it on the general public!! :)
‘no kishi is certainly strange, but i never got into nihei’s other stuff, i just liked the style of the art. however sidonia is quite different from other stuff in style too, so im hoping something else will keep me interested… early doors yet.
oh and winny – i dont use it either. iv recently been looking at raws though. i hope you dont mind i added the sidonia raws in winny club forum on jcafe24. i credited you though ;)
humbug – yeah riki oh is crazy! haha thanks ^_^
June 6th, 2009 at 9:22 PM
Only one more volume left for Riki-oh ,i will miss the craziness of this manga .
@CGorhant: if you don’t mind i wanted to add a complete manga in your new post,i have planned a new post for next week but that has a special theme and i don’t want to add it there,so let me know if it’s ok.
June 6th, 2009 at 11:11 PM
Archer, no problem, go on! Thats the purpose of that post :D
Do you already know the thing about including pictures? I can’t see yout email, can you see mine? If so, send me a mail, I’ll answer you then.
@mono: yes in that way, Sidonia really is weird. Don’t know where Nihei’ll take us, hopefully not to Gundam. And you can always share the raw! But you don’t have to credit me, since I too took it only from another forum^^
